Welcome to Herning, a small town with 50,000 inhabitants in the middle of nowhere in Western Denmark.

Over the course of nine years spectacularly Herning produced five NHL players, among them Toronto Maple Leafs' goalie Frederik Andersen and the NHL king of the shootout Frans Nielsen.

My name is Rasmus Ankersen, and I was born and raised in Herning. Over the last 10 years I have studied the best talent hotbeds in the world. I have written books about it and undertaken lectures all over the world without realising that the most impressive talent hotbed was right on my doorstep in the small town where I grew up.

This realisation led me to return home to Herning to tell this extraordinary story about how this little town against all odds produced five players in just nine years to the worlds biggest hockey scene.
